Control on gas drying processes
High purity of the gases is a very critical requirement in various industrial processes. In many applications it is especially important to constantly maintain low concentration of water vapor in a gas stream. It is therefore a common practice to apply various dehydration materials (silica-gel, zeolite etc.) for drying the gas stream. However these materials have a finite water uptake capacity and consequently finite lifetime. The loss of drying capacity usually is quite drastic and happens on a short time scale and consequently the water vapor concentration in the gas stream can increase steeply, which may result in a damage of moisture sensitive system components. Therefore there is a clear need for water vapor concentration measuring instruments, which can follow large fluctuations.
Our photoacoustic systems proved to be capable to monitor water vapor concentration in various industrial gases. The system can operate in the water vapor concentration range from 0.1-10.000 ppm. The response time of the system is only a few seconds.
Our systems can operate reliably and automatically even in harsh industrial environment.
